I recently took a trip to Costa Rica to see the Scarlets in the wild. They were on a remote area on the Osa Peninsula, which is on the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. I saw them flying in pairs of two or four. They feed on the almond trees on the coastline. They also like the palm nuts. I also saw them in a small fishing town in people's back yards feeding and playing in the almond trees. They nest in ficus trees, dead palm trees, and others. It was a wonderful experience to see them in their natural habitat
